GENERAL QUESTIONS

How do I receive Grants?

Everything is dependent on the County, City, and State of where you want to live and the household size and income of the working members of the household for you to qualify for down payment and closing cost assistance.

Can I get a certificate from any agency?

No, The agency must be listed on the HUD.gov website as a HUD approved Counseling agency.  You can contact our office to get into our First Time Home Buyer Classes on the 4th Saturdays of every month in English and in Spanish and soon to be Creole.

What should I do if I get behind on my mortgage?

You must contact your lender/servicer or a HUD approved Counseling Agency immediately or contact Oasis of Hope CDC at 954-586-1283.

What should I do if I lose my job and cannot meet my mortgage obligations?

You should contact us to find out what programs are available for assistance; you may qualify to get assistance for up to one year from Florida Hardest Hit Program (HHF Funds), Florida Principle Reduction Program (PR Funds) or Florida Foreclosure Prevention Program (FCP) where you may qualification for a Loan Modification through your Servicers or HAMP up to December 31, 2016 or HARP programs.  You can speak to a certified Advisor is our office.

What is Reverse Mortgage/HECM?

Reverse Mortgage is a special type of home loan that lets you convert a portion of the equity in your home into cash if you are 62 years or older.  You can speak to a certified counselor in our office.

VOLUNTEER QUESTIONS

Can I volunteer to help Oasis CDC?

Yes. Oasis of Hope CDC is always looking for volunteers and welcome volunteers to join us.

How can I help?

• We need volunteers for clerical work in our office.

• We need Volunteers for our youth aging out of foster care program. Helping with life skills and mentors.

• We need volunteers who can help with our first time home buyer workshops on Saturdays; making calls, assisting with marketing as well as marketing for our programs.

• We need volunteers for special project for the youth.

What are the benefits of partnering with Oasis of Hope CDC?

We are an established nonprofit with several existing partners. Our existing partners are helping our clients learn more about becoming a first time home buyer, financing new construction projects, building new homes, rehabilitating apartments, and helping to financing our end buyers.

Donating to oasis of hope means creating a win/win opportunity.

We work well with our partners and we provide services for our communities.
Our ultimate goal is to provide basic community housing services for the low and moderate income communities of Broward, Palm Beach and Miami Dade counties. Our objective is to help improve the low and moderate income communities.
